New Step Therapy is mental health therapy center located in Lexington, KY and offers in person therapy and online therapy throughout Kentucky. While we are approved to accept a variety of commercial and medicaid insurance plans for mental health therapy services, not all of our providers are able to accept them. All of our providers are able to accept private pay, includes those on sliding scale plans, and medicaid plans.

Therapy rates listed are the self pay rates and the max that an individual would pay for therapy services at New Step Therapy. Most Insurance rates will be at or below listed rate. Be sure to reach out to your insurance provider to ensure we are in-network or with our mainline to discuss payment options.

We encourage all clients to check their coverage prior to starting sessions. This includes what is covered on your plan, as not insurance plan cover mental health services or restricts certain coverage for some diagnoses. Some plans also have limited number of sessions they will pay for or give a discounted rate for. Some insurance plans will cover part or all of the sessions after a deductible is met. Some plans may have a copay for services.

If you have an insurance plan that we accept but do not have mental health benefits. It may be possible to still bill the session for the discounted rate but will not count towards your deductible. Otherwise, we can discuss self pay fees with you prior to starting.

In order for couple’s counseling sessions to be billed towards insurance, one of the individuals must be determined as a patient with a diagnoses. While most plans cover couple’s or family counseling, some may not so it is encouraged to reach out to your insurance to confirm coverage.

Option 1: Call the number on the back of the card to talk to a case manager about your mental health coverage. Some maybe able to tell you if you have a copay, coinsurance or need to hit a deductible first.
When you call select option or ask for mental health (often referred to behavioral health) benefits.
